Arizona Sonoran Desert Sogetsu Study Group, USA

Our annual exhibition at the Japanese Friendship Garden is one of our favorite events. We prepare for weeks ahead planning our designs, ordering florals, cutting and preparing branches, and collecting information about Sogetsu Ikebana to disseminate to our visitors.
This year was an outstanding success in every way. 19 of our member artists created 3 group arrangements and 45 individual arrangements. Including artists, guests, garden staff, and volunteers, 2,000 people enjoyed our exhibition.

Demonstrations by four teachers: Carol Brecker, Wanda Collins, Claire McCaughey, and Ping Wei were well
attended and enjoyed.

Our Ikebana Information Table and our Make and Take your own Ikebana Workshop. Even some of our ikebana husbands helped.
For children and adults, we had a very popular new Treasure hunt to find interesting flowers and animals in the exhibit to win a flower sticker. 250 visitors joined our 30 minute workshops.
