Sogetsu New Delhi Branch will hold a very interesting April Program:
“Sakura Heralding Spring”
Ms. Eikou Sumura , a Master Instructor of the Sogetsu Headquarters, Riji , and a Trustee of the Sogetsu Foundation, and her daughter Ms. Yuka Okubo will show us the fantastic Japanese Spring with their arrangements.
It is the first time Mother and Daughter will be demonstrating together. They will use different varieties of Sakura, which many of us may not have seen.
Ms. Sumura comes from a very famous family of Sogetsu school. Her uncle , Mr. Gajyou Okubo, worked together with Sofu Teshigahara, the Founder of the Sogetsu School, and his extended family continue to forge a strong tie with the school. Her father, Mr. Kosoku Sumura, and first cousin, Mr. Masanaga Okubo, are also Master Instructors of the Sogetsu HQ.
Ms Sumura’s daughter , Ms Yuka Okubo is the third generation of the family and as a Sogetsu teacher herself, actively teach, hold demonstrations, and join exhibitions both in Japan and overseas.
