Ikebanist : Kumiko Kato

Kumiko Kato(Master Instructor of Sogetsu HQ)
With a renewed mindset, I crafted this ikebana piece to celebrate the arrival of the new year.
I juxtaposed the graceful curves of the princess tree with the elegant straightness of the Japanese apricot against the robust volume of the pine.
The princess tree's gentle curvature contrasts with the linear form of the Japanese apricot.
Using these varied lines, I aimed to evoke a sense of solemnity and tranquility.
May 2025 bring peace and joy to all.
