In the Japanese room on the fifth floor of the Sogetsu Kaikan, seasonal ikebana works are constantly on display for public view.

This large branch of the lily-of-the-valley bush was so impressive that I wanted to make the best use of its thick growth and lines.
I put the colored Japanese knotweed, a flower material that I had never used before, low like a flame to match the atmosphere of the painting in the background.
I could feel happiness and the responsibility of being able to create my ikebana work in this prestigious Japanese Room.
