Message from Akane Teshigahara

Even a Single Flower Can Change Tomorrow

“Ikebana can send cheer  and  good spirits  to the people of the world and industrial sectors affected by the spread of the pandemic, one of them is the flower industry.”
Our crowdfunding campaign started with this message has received tremendous support from many people both at home and abroad. Thank you very much for all of your warm support.
The funds raised from your support will be used on the glory lilies to create an installation for display at the entrance of Sogetsu Kaikan. We will also share making videos of installation and the photos of  the  work to encourage  at flower industry workers as well as to bring to everyone the joy of living with flowers.

The COVID-19  epidemic  has caused the cancellation of many events, depriving people of  their previous freedom of movement, and social gatherings in order to stay safe .
Please have a flower close to you  when you feel isolated and worried . This will help heal our hearts, bring comfort to our lives, and  lend  support to the  struggling  flower industry.
Even a single flower can change our way of living, you personally and tomorrow—
My wish is that through this project, you will feel the spirit of flowers, which are there for you in especially difficult times.

Glory Lily

In this project, we will buy glory lilies as a floral material for the ikebana work.
The glory lily, with its blazing red color and distinctive flower shape, is popular throughout the country as an ornamental cut flower and one of Iemoto Teshigahara Akane’s favorite flowers.
The installation, which will use as many as 5,000 glory lilies, will  communicate energy and vitality.
